ElleyMate – supplementary passive protection for batteries and chargers
ElleyMate is a product line intended to reduce the consequences of a fire inside a defined protected enclosure. The design, capacity limits and use are governed by the manual for the relevant model.
ElleyMate product line
ElleyMate is a supplementary protective product line intended to limit the consequences of a thermal event or the ignition of battery cells within a defined protected internal space. When the critical temperature is reached, model EM-3590s mechanically closes the monitored space and releases inert bulk material that helps restrict air access, reduce heat transfer and limit the spread of smoke and decomposition products.
Typical use includes industrial workplaces, offices, service and testing areas, and other indoor spaces where smaller battery-powered devices, chargers and related equipment are charged or temporarily stored. The advantages are device operation without electrical or pressure energy, simple installation, easy visual status checking and the ability to reduce the impact of an incident directly at its source.

Features and intended use
No external power for suppression
The EM-3590s model uses neither electrical nor pressurised energy for its extinguishing function.
Thermal mechanical activation
At a critical temperature, the mechanism releases the flaps and the loose extinguishing medium fills the protected enclosure.
For smaller battery devices
Intended mainly for chargers, batteries, tools, models, drones, camera equipment and test devices within the limits of the specific model.
Supplementary protective device
The product is not a portable fire extinguisher, fixed extinguishing system or fire alarm system.
Signalling contacts
The EM-3590s provides flap-status and thermostat contacts for optional connection to a supervisory system.
Indoor use
The device is intended for a defined indoor enclosure and must be installed and used in accordance with its manual.
Operating principle
Placement
The charger or battery is placed in the protected enclosure so that nothing obstructs the flaps.
Thermal activation
At a critical temperature, the mechanical fuse releases the closing and discharge mechanism.
Closure and filling
The flaps close the enclosure and the loose inert medium limits air access and separates the flame from the surroundings.
Post-event procedure
After activation, allow complete cooling, follow the manual and call the fire service whenever safety is uncertain.
Return to service
After cooling, clean and inspect the device, install a new fuse element if required, reset the flaps and refill the specified extinguishing medium. The device is then ready for repeated use.
